MSU Forward : มมส ค้นพบ "สัตว์เลื้อยคลานบินได้" ตัวแรกของไทย Garudapterus buffetauti

Mahasarakham University mentioned.

"In 2025, this specimen was described by Sita Manitkoon and colleagues in the journal Cretaceous Research and named as the new taxon Garudapterus buffetauti. It is the first pterosaur to be named both from Thailand and South-East Asia as a whole, and was thus noted for its biogeographic importance. The specimen is catalogued in the collections of the Palaeontological Research and Education Centre at Mahasarakham University as PRC 185-190, and consists of a portion of the rostrum that includes the third through thirteenth tooth sockets, as well as five associated partial teeth."

As a news about a new species discovered, we usually thinking about Kasetsart, Mahidol, Chula, Thammasat, Chiang Mai, Khon Kaen, Songkhla, etc.

Mahasarakham usually not in your minds (and my minds too) for some reasons.
* It is less famous compared to them.
* As a province name (not university name), Maha Sarakham province is much smaller than Chiang Mai, Khon Kaen and Songkhla.
* As a RoiKaenSaraSin member, Maha Sarakham province seems to be the smallest of the four.
